Introduction to Ecosprin Av 75mg Capsule
Ecosprin AV 75mg capsule is an antiplatelet and statin drug belonging to the platelet aggregation and HMG CoA reductase inhibitors category, containing the active ingredient Aspirin, Atorvastatin. This combination medication is commonly used to reduce the risk of cardiovascular events in patients at high risk, such as those with high cholesterol and a history of heart disease or stroke.
This drug should not be given to teenagers and children who have or are recovering from viral infections, particularly chickenpox or influenza. In these cases, it has been associated with developing Reye's syndrome, a serious condition affecting the liver and brain. This capsule is primarily metabolized in the liver and eliminated through the kidneys. Individuals with severe liver or kidney disease may have impaired clearance of this drug and an increased risk of toxicity. Therefore, caution is advised, and the dosage may need to be adjusted. Ecosprin AV 75mg capsule can increase the risk of bleeding. Hence, it is contraindicated in individuals with active bleeding conditions, such as bleeding ulcers, bleeding disorders, or recent hemorrhagic strokes.
Regarding fertility, this drug may temporarily affect fertility in women. But, the effect is generally reversible upon discontinuation of the medication. If you have concerns regarding the effect of this drug on fertility, it is recommended to discuss them with your healthcare professional. Patients are also advised to report any skin or hypersensitivity reactions to their healthcare provider and to seek medical emergency immediately if they experience any symptoms of a severe reaction. This drug may trigger asthma or bronchospasm in individuals who are sensitive to it. It mainly occurs in patients with a history of asthma or nasal polyps. If you have any respiratory problems, immediately inform your doctor before taking Ecosprin AV 75mg capsule. Therapeutic Effects of Ecosprin Av 75mg Capsule
The first drug works by inhibiting the activity of an enzyme called cyclooxygenase (COX), specifically COX-1, which is involved in the production of thromboxane A2. Thromboxane A2 promotes platelet aggregation, which can lead to the formation of blood clots. By inhibiting thromboxane A2 production, this drug helps prevent excessive platelet aggregation and reduces the risk of blood clot formation. The other drug works by inhibiting an enzyme called HMG-CoA reductase, which is involved in the production of cholesterol in the liver. By inhibiting this enzyme, this drug reduces the synthesis of cholesterol, leading to a decrease in total cholesterol and low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol levels.
