Introduction to Abirat 250mg Tablet

Abirat 250mg Tablet is used in adult men in the treatment of prostate cancer, which has spread to other parts of the body. Abirat 250mg Tablet stops the body from the production of testosterone, which slows down the growth of prostate cancer. Abirat 250mg Tablet is prescribed to the early stage of disease where it still responds to hormone therapy

The patient should talk to his/her Physician or Pharmacist if he/she has liver problems, high blood pressure or heart failure, or low blood potassium as it may increase the risk of heart rhythm problems, heart or blood vessel related problems, irregular or fast heart rate, shortness of breath, rapid weight gain, swelling in feet, ankles or legs, possible effects on bones, in case of high blood sugar, with any heart or blood vessel conditions, including irregularities in the heart rhythm or being treated with medicines for these conditions, yellow skin or eyes, dark urine, nausea, vomiting as these are the signs of liver problems. Very rarely liver failure occurs that leads to death. 

The medicine is not used in children and adolescents. If accidently ingested then take the patient along with the package leaflet to the doctor on an emergency basis. The serious side effects include muscle weakness, muscle twitching, palpitation. These are the signs of low potassium in your blood. Decrease in red blood cells, reduced sex drive occurs with the intake of Abirat 250mg Tablet.One must never take an Abirat 250mg Tablet with Ra-223, which is used to treat prostate cancer.

How to consume Abirat 250mg Tablet

The medicine should always be consumed as per the direction of your physician or pharmacist. The medicine should be taken by mouth. It should not be taken with food. Swallow the tablets whole with water without breaking them. The medicine should be taken with prednisone or prednisolone every day while you are taking Abirat 250mg Tablet. The amount of prednisone or prednisolone will be as per doctor’s advice. The discontinuation of prednisone or prednisolone will also be as per doctor’s advice. If more than one Abirat 250mg Tablet is consumed the patient should inform the doctor.
