Introduction to Adalirel 20mg Injection
Adalirel 20mg Injection contains the active ingredient Adalimumab. It is an antirheumatic agent that belongs to the class of medications called TNF (tumor necrosis factor) inhibitors. It is used alone or with other medications to relieve the symptoms of certain autoimmune disorders. It is used to treat rheumatoid arthritis (a condition in which the body attacks its joints, causing pain, swelling, and loss of function), polyarticular juvenile idiopathic arthritis (a condition that affects children in which the body attacks its own joints, causing pain, swelling, loss of function, and delays in growth and development).
It is also indicated to treat enthesitis-related arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis (a condition in which the body attacks the joints of the spine and other areas, causing pain and joint damage), axial spondyloarthritis without radiographic evidence of ankylosing spondylitis, psoriatic arthritis (a condition that causes joint pain and swelling and scales on the skin), plaque psoriasis, hidradenitis suppurativa (a skin disease that causes pimple-like bumps in the armpits, groin, and anal area), Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis (a condition which causes swelling and sores in the lining of the colon [large intestine] and rectum), and non-infectious uveitis (swelling and inflammation of different areas of the eye).
Do not use Adalirel 20mg Injection if you are allergic to adalimumab or any of the other ingredients present in this medicine. Do not take this medicine if you have active tuberculosis or other severe infections. Do not consume this medicine if you have moderate or severe heart failure. Inform your physician if you have any active infection before starting the treatment. Tell your doctor if you have lung problems, heart diseases, liver or kidney disorders before initiating the treatment. If you are pregnant, think you may be pregnant, or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice about taking this medicine.

Therapeutic Effects of Adalirel 20mg Injection
The active ingredient in this medicine is a human monoclonal antibody. Monoclonal antibodies are proteins that attach to a specific target. The target of Adalirel 20mg Injection is a protein called tumor necrosis factor (TNFα), which is involved in the immune (defense) system and at increased levels in the inflammatory diseases. By attaching to TNFα, Humira decreases inflammation in these diseases.

Safety Advices for Adalirel 20mg Injection
Pregnancy
Do not take Adalirel 20mg Injection during pregnancy unless your doctor says. Inform your physician if you are pregnant, suspecting, or planning to get pregnant during the treatment. Use effective contraception during the treatment and for at least 5 months after the last dose.
Breast Feeding
Adalirel 20mg Injection can be used during breastfeeding. However, inform your physician if you are breastfeeding.
Lungs
Adalirel 20mg Injection should be taken cautiously in patients with lung problems. Inform your physician if you have any lung diseases before initiating the treatment.
Liver
Adalirel 20mg Injection should be taken cautiously in patients with liver problems. Inform your physician if you have any liver diseases before initiating the treatment.
Alcohol

Driving

You will be shown the body areas where this shot can be given. Use a different body area each time you give yourself a shot. Keep track of where you give each shot to make sure you rotate body areas. Do not inject into skin areas that are red, bruised, tender, or hard. Take a dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, wait until then and take a regular dose. Do not take extra medicine to make up for a missed dose.
