Introduction to Adenoz 6mg Injection

Adenoz 6mg Injection contains an active component as Adenosine. This medication is commonly used to diagnose supraventricular tachycardia (SVT). SVT is a rapid heart rhythm disorder that originates above the ventricles in the heart.  It may be administered during electrophysiology (a type of diagnostic test for the heart) studies to induce and assess abnormal heart rhythms. It helps identify arrhythmias' specific mechanisms and locations, providing valuable information for planning subsequent treatments. Adenoz 6mg Injection is used in stress tests, such as myocardial perfusion imaging or nuclear stress tests, to evaluate blood flow to the heart muscle.

If an individual has a known allergy or hypersensitivity to Adenoz 6mg Injection or its components, its use should be avoided. Inform your healthcare provider about any pre-existing medical conditions, such as gastrointestinal disorders, liver disease, kidney disease, or other health conditions. These may require special precautions or adjustments in the use of this medication. Adenoz 6mg Injection is contraindicated in individuals with second or third-degree AV block, as it can further slow down or disrupt the electrical conduction in the heart. This medication can cause transient hypotension (low blood pressure). It should be used cautiously in individuals with severe hypotension or at risk of hypotensive episodes.

Uses of Adenoz 6mg Injection

Adenoz 6mg Injection is used to treat the following:

  • Treatment of arrhythmia
  • As a diagnostic aid in the cardiac stress test

Therapeutic Effects of Adenoz 6mg Injection

This medication has a therapeutic effect on certain cardiovascular conditions. It is commonly used to diagnose and treat supraventricular tachycardia (SVT). When administered intravenously, Adenoz 6mg Injection can temporarily slow down the heart rate and interrupt abnormal electrical pathways, restoring normal sinus rhythm. This can provide rapid relief for individuals experiencing SVT episodes. Additionally, it is used in stress tests to evaluate blood flow to the heart, aiding in diagnosing coronary artery disease. Its ability to dilate coronary arteries helps identify areas of reduced blood flow, indicating potential blockages or narrowing.

Interaction of Adenoz 6mg Injection with other drugs

Inform the doctor about your medicines, including prescription, over-the-counter, nutritional or vitamin supplements, and herbal products. Certain medications may interact with Adenoz 6mg Injection, reducing effectiveness by causing undesirable side effects.
