Introduction to Amlodac M Tablet

Amlodac M tablet is an antihypertensive agent containing two active substances: amlodipine and metoprolol. Amlodipine belongs to the group of medications called calcium channel blockers. Metoprolol belongs to the class of medications called beta-blockers. This fixed-dose combination is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). It is also used for heart-related chest pain, abnormal heart rhythms, and chronic (long-term) heart failure.

Do not take Amlodac M tablet if you are allergic to amlodipine, metoprolol, or any of the other ingredients of this medicine. Do not take this medicine if you have severe asthma or severe attacks of wheezing. Do not consume this medicine if you have serious heart or blood vessel disorder, low blood pressure, if you have high blood pressure due to a tumor near your kidney, or if your blood is more acidic than normal (metabolic acidosis). 

Inform your physician if you recently had a heart attack or if you are suffering from a heart attack, severe increase in blood pressure, liver disease, lung disease, diabetes, and psoriasis before starting the therapy. Inform your physician if you are going to undertake any surgery or dental procedures while consuming these medicines. Consult your physician if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or planning to get pregnant during the treatment.

Amlodipine and Metoprolol effectively reduce blood pressure. It is suggested to monitor your blood pressure regularly to prevent hypotension.  You may also need regular eye examinations. Monitor your blood sugar levels regularly. Your doctor may suggest you to take certain tests to monitor the effectiveness and side effects of the therapy.
