Introduction to Bdparib 300mg Tablet

Bdparib 300mg tablet contains the active ingredient rucaparib. It is an anti-cancer medicine that belongs to the class of medications called PARP (poly ADP-ribose polymerase) inhibitors. It is used to help maintain the response to other treatments for certain types of ovarian cancer, fallopian tube (a tube that transports eggs released by the ovaries to the uterus), and primary peritoneal (layer of tissue that lines the abdomen) cancer that has reoccurred in adults who have previously completely responded or partially responded to other chemotherapy treatments. 

It is also used to treat certain types of cancer in people with specific gene (BRCA) changes who have received treatment with at least two other chemotherapy treatments. It is also indicated as maintenance therapy immediately after chemotherapy which has caused the tumor to shrink. Do not take Bdparib 300mg tablet if you are allergic to Bdparib or any of the ingredients. This medication can cause low blood counts; hence your healthcare professional will advise you to take certain blood tests before and every month during the treatment.  

Inform your doctor if you have nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or abdominal pain during the treatment because this medicine may affect your stomach or bowels. Bdparib 300mg tablet should not be given to children under 18 years of age. Notify your physician if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, suspecting, or planning for pregnancy during the treatment with this medicine. Women with reproductive potential should use effective contraception during the treatment.

Therapeutic Effects of Bdparib 300mg Tablet

Bdparib 300mg tablet is an inhibitor of poly Adenosine diphosphate-ribose polymerase enzymes, including PARP-1, PARP-2, and PARP-3, which play a role in DNA repair. It blocks an enzyme that repairs damaged DNA in the cancer cells, resulting in their death. 


Interaction of Bdparib 300mg Tablet with other drugs

Inform your healthcare provider about all the medicines you take, including prescription medications, over-the-counter medications, nutritional and vitamin supplements, and herbal products. Certain medications interact with Bdparib 300mg tablet and reduce its effectiveness by causing undesirable side effects.

Breastfeeding is not recommended in patients taking Bdparib 300mg tablet because the medicine passes into the breast milk in small amounts and may harm your baby. Do not breastfeed during the treatment.

It is unknown whether Bdparib 300mg tablet is safe to be administer in patients with lung diseases. Inform your physician if you have any lung diseases before initiating the therapy.

Do not stop taking this medicine without talking to your doctor. Your doctor may do lab tests to check the therapy's effectiveness or monitor the unwanted side effects.
