Introduction to Bosutris 500mg Tablet

Introduction

Bosutris 500mg Tablet contains the active ingredient bosutinib. It belongs to the group of medications called Tyrosine kinase inhibitors. It is indicated to treat adult patients with a type of leukemia known as Philadelphia chromosome-positive (Ph-positive) Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia (CML) who have been newly diagnosed or for whom earlier CML treatments have either failed or have not worked or are not suitable. Philadelphia chromosome-positive chronic myelogenous leukemia is a blood cancer in which the body produces too many of a specific kind of white blood cell called granulocytes. 

Low white blood cell count (leukopenia), headache, shortness of breath, joint pain, dizziness, cough, back pain, decreased appetite, respiratory tract infection, raised blood pressure, ringing in the ears (tinnitus), itching, acne, dehydration, taste change, sensitivity to light and fluid on lungs are the common side effects of Bosutris 500mg Tablet. Inform your doctor if any of these symptoms disturb you or persist.

Inform your physician if you are allergic to Bosutris 500mg Tablet or its ingredients. Before taking this medication, report to your doctor if you have heart problems, bleeding problems, kidney and liver disorders, infection, or diarrhea. It is not recommended for children under the age of 18. Limit your time outside and use sunscreen if you must go outside, as this medicine can make you more sensitive to the sun or UV rays.

Therapeutic Effects of Bosutris 500mg Tablet

Bosutris 500mg Tablet works by inhibiting the activity of an enzyme called Bcr-Abl kinase that promotes the growth and spread of blood cancer (Ph+ CML). This helps to slow or stop the growth and spread of cancer cells.

It is suggested to use sunscreen with a good sun protection factor (SPF) because you are sensitive to sun or UV rays while taking this medication. Do not eat or drink grapefruit-containing food products as this may increase the blood level in your body.
