Introduction to Dargen 40mcg Injection
Dargen 40mg injection contains the active ingredient Darbepoetin Alfa. It is an antineoplastic drug that belongs to the class of medications called hematopoietic growth factors. It is used to treat anemia (lower than normal RBC) in people with chronic kidney disease. It is also indicated to treat anemia caused by chemotherapy in people with certain types of cancer. The symptoms of anemia are fatigue, weakness, and shortness of breath.
Do not take Dargen 40mg injection if you are allergic to Darbepoetin alfa or any other ingredients and have uncontrolled blood pressure. Inform your physician if you have high blood pressure, anemia, a history of seizures, epilepsy, liver disease, or allergy to latex or hepatitis C. Inform your physician if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
If you have severe headache, dizziness, drowsiness, confusion, problems with your eyesight, nausea, vomiting, or seizures after taking Dargen 40mg injection, inform your physician immediately and seek medical advice. This medicine's most common side effects are hypertension, shortness of breath, swelling in the legs, and cough.

Therapeutic Effects of Dargen 40mcg Injection
Dargen 40mg injection is an erythropoiesis-stimulating protein produced by recombinant DNA technology. It is closely related to erythropoietin and stimulates erythropoiesis by the same mechanism, and both agents bind to progenitor stem cells stimulating the production/differentiation of red blood cells. It works by causing the bone marrow to make more red blood cells.

This injection is to be given under the skin (subcutaneous). Your doctor, nurse, or other healthcare professional will train you on how to inject yourself with this pre-filled pen. Do not try to inject the pre-filled pen if you are not well-trained. Never inject the medicine into your vein. If you need help to inject the medicine, visit the nearby hospital or clinic.

Pregnancy
There are no adequate and well-controlled studies on the use of Dargen 40mg injection in pregnant women. Inform your physician if you are pregnant, suspecting, or planning for pregnancy during the treatment.
Breast Feeding
Breastfeeding is not recommended in patients taking Dargen 40mg injection because the medicine passes into the breast milk in small amounts and may harm your baby.
Lungs

Liver

Alcohol
