Introduction to Exelon 6mg Capsule

Exelon 6mg capsule belongs to the family cholinesterase inhibitors with an active ingredient called Rivastigmine. It treats mild to moderately severe Alzheimer's dementia in adults. Alzheimer's is a condition where a progressive brain disorder affects memory, intellect, and behavior. In this condition, specific nerve cells in the brain die, leading to reduced levels of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine, which is essential for nerve cell communication. This medicine works by blocking the enzymes that break down acetylcholine, which helps reduce Alzheimer's symptoms. Additionally, it is also used to treat dementia in adult patients with Parkinson's disease.

Do not consume Exelon 6mg capsule if you are allergic to Rivastigmine and its other ingredients. Avoid using this medicine if you had a severe skin reaction to a transdermal patch that did not improve within 48 hours after removal. Avoid taking this medicine if you are allergic to carbamate derivatives such as neostigmine treats myasthenia gravis, or darunavir for HIV treatment. This medicine is not used to treat Alzheimer's disease in children.

Before taking Exelon 6mg capsule, inform your doctor if you have a history of irregular or slow heartbeat, heart failure, heart attack, low levels of potassium or magnesium, or active stomach ulcer. Report to your physician if you have difficulties in passing urine, seizures, asthma or severe respiratory disease, impaired kidney function, impaired liver function, or if you have a low body weight (below 50 kg). If you miss the medicine for three days, consult your doctor before taking the next dose.
