Introduction to Hodpro 50mg Capsule

Hodpro 50mg capsule contains the active ingredient Procarbazine. It belongs to the category of medicines known as alkylating agents. This medication is used in combination with other medicines for the treatment of Hodgkin’s and non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and brain tumours. Hodgkin’s disease and non-Hodgkin’s disease refers to the type of blood cancers. 

The common side effects that are likely to occur with this medicine are nausea, vomiting, skin rash, slurred speech, loss of appetite, edema, and headache. Inform your healthcare provider if these side effects concern you or persist for longer than usual. Inform your doctor if you have a gluten allergy before initiating treatment. This medicine can cause fertility issues, inform your doctor about any fertility concerns you may have before starting treatment with this medicine. 

Inform your doctor before receiving any vaccinations during treatment with this drug. Before taking this capsule, talk to your physician about all the medications you have been taking, including supplements and herbal medicines. Talk to your physician if you have severe bone marrow depression or any kidney disorders. Avoid consuming wine, yogurt, mature cheese, bananas, and high tyramine-content foods like smoked or pickled meat, and fermented sausage while being treated with this medicine. This drug is not recommended during the first trimester of pregnancy. Consult with your doctor for more advice.

Hodpro 50mg capsule works by damaging the DNA and RNA of the cancer cells. This stops their growth and multiplication and thus results in cell toxicity and the death of cancer cells.
