Introduction to Hosvilda M 50/500mg Tablet
Hosvilda M 50/500mg Tablet contains an active component called Metformin and Vildagliptin. It is used for the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus, which is a chronic condition that affects the way the body processes blood sugar (glucose). This medication can be used to help control high blood sugar levels. It may be used to improve insulin sensitivity in patients who are resistant to the effects of insulin. This medication might be used to manage blood sugar levels in individuals with overweight and obesity-related metabolic disorders.
It should not be used in patients with known hypersensitivity or allergy to Hosvilda M 50/500mg Tablet or any other inactive ingredients in the medication. It should not be used in patients with severe renal impairment (creatinine clearance below 30 mL/min), as the kidneys primarily excrete this medication, and their clearance is reduced in patients with impaired renal function. Patients with a history of ketoacidosis, diabetic ketoacidosis, or lactic acidosis should not use this medication. It is not recommended for patients with severe liver impairment. Conditions such as heart failure, respiratory failure, recent myocardial infarction, and shock, which can lead to tissue hypoxia, are contraindications for the use of this medication.
In patients who will be receiving iodinated contrast agents for radiologic studies, the use of this medication should be temporarily discontinued before or at the time of the procedure and not restarted until at least 48 hours after, provided that renal function has been re-evaluated and found to be stable. Elderly patients may be more susceptible to the side effects of this medication, particularly those related to kidney function. Regular monitoring of kidney function is essential. Hosvilda M 50/500mg Tablet is not recommended for use in children.

Therapeutic Effects of Hosvilda M 50/500mg Tablet
Hosvilda M 50/500mg Tablet works by combining the mechanisms of its two active ingredients, Vildagliptin and Metformin, to manage type 2 diabetes mellitus. Vildagliptin functions by inhibiting the enzyme DPP-4, which increases active incretin hormone levels, stimulating insulin secretion and reducing glucagon release. Metformin reduces hepatic glucose production, enhances peripheral glucose uptake, and improves insulin sensitivity through AMPK activation. This combined action helps regulate blood sugar levels through complementary pathways.
