Introduction to Lonopin Md 300mg Injection

Lonopin MD 300mg Injection is an anticoagulant drug belonging to the category of low molecular weight heparin (LMWH). It contains the active ingredient Enoxaparin. It is used to treat severe blood clots. This drug also prevents the occurrence of deep vein thrombosis in abdominal surgery, hip replacement surgery, knee replacement surgery, and in people with severe movement restrictions. This injection prevents further heart complications in patients with unstable angina and non-Q wave myocardial infarction.

Lonopin MD 300mg Injection is not recommended for patients with active bleeding, hypersensitivity, or allergies to the active compound, as well as those with a history of heparin-induced thrombocytopenia, before taking Lonopin MD 300mg Injection, tell your physician if you are allergic to Enoxaparin, heparin, benzyl alcohol, or pork products. 

Your healthcare provider will regularly monitor you for signs of bleeding. Inform your healthcare practitioner if you are diagnosed with kidney problems. It is not recommended for use in children and adolescents below 18 years. 

Lonopin MD 300mg Injection is not recommended if you undergo procedures like neuraxial anaesthesia or spinal puncture. It is recommended to monitor older adults and patients with low weight for increased risk of bleeding.

Tell your physician if you suspect pregnancy, breastfeeding, or planning to have a baby. Lonopin MD 300mg Injection may increase the chance of bleeding in pregnant women with artificial heart valves, and hence, close monitoring must be done. 

Consult your doctor for more advice before starting Lonopin MD 300mg Injection medication, it is recommended not to take any hemostatic drugs unless absolutely necessary.  It is needed to inform your physician about all the drugs you are taking, including herbal and vitamin supplements.

Lonopin MD 300mg Injection is used in the treatment of the following:

  • Deep vein thrombosis
  • Prophylaxis of venous thrombo-embolism
  • Unstable angina
  • ST-segment Elevation Myocardial Infarction (STEMI)
  • Prevention of blood clots during surgeries

Therapeutic Effects of Lonopin Md 300mg Injection

Lonopin MD 300mg Injection binds to the antithrombin to form a complex. Antithrombin is a protein that blocks the formation of abnormal blood clots. This drug mainly prevents the activation of factor Xa, eventually preventing clot formation. It is commonly used for the prevention and treatment of conditions associated with increased risk of blood clots.


Interaction of Lonopin Md 300mg Injection with other drugs

Some medicinal products that affect haemostasis should be discontinued before starting Lonopin MD 300mg Injection therapy unless absolutely necessary. If a combination is required, Lonopin MD 300mg Injection should be used with careful clinical and laboratory monitoring. 

These products include systemic salicylates, acetylsalicylic acid at anti-inflammatory doses, NSAIDs like ketorolac, other thrombolytics such as alteplase, reteplase, streptokinase, tenecteplase, urokinase, and other anticoagulants.

Apply a cool compress at the injection site to reduce pain and irritation. Aspirin and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medicines (NSAIDs) may increase the risk of bleeding when combined with Lonopin MD 300mg Injection, so it is not recommended to take them without first talking to your doctor. Keep away from activities that put you at higher risk of bleeding or getting hurt, like contact sports and activities. 

Foods high in Vitamin K may have an impact on blood clotting and may interfere with the way anticoagulant drugs like Lonopin MD 300mg Injection. It is recommended to eat leafy green vegetables, asparagus, Brussels sprouts and soybean oil in moderation. It is advised to monitor your platelet count regularly.
