Introduction to Mol Plus Injection

Mol plus injection contains the active constituent Paracetamol. It belongs to the class of medications called analgesics and antipyretics. It is used to relieve mild to moderate pain and to reduce fever. It is also used in combination with opioid analgesics to manage moderate to severe pain in adult and pediatric patients 2 years and older. It works by changing the way the body senses pain and by cooling the body. 

Do not take Mol plus injection if you are allergic to Paracetamol or any other ingredients and if you suffer from severe liver disease. Inform your physician if you have liver disease and kidney problems. Notify your physician if you suffer from alcohol abuse. This medicine can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. However, inform your physician if you are pregnant or planning to get pregnant during the treatment. 

The most common side effects of Mol plus injection are nausea, vomiting, headache, and insomnia in adult patients and nausea, vomiting, constipation, and pruritus in pediatric patients. This medicine will be administered to you by a healthcare professional. Do not self-administer the medicine.

Therapeutic Effects of Mol Plus Injection

Mol plus injection reduces fever by inhibiting the formulation and release of hormone-like substances (prostaglandins) in the CNS and by inhibiting substances like endogenous pyrogens at the hypothalamic thermoregulator center. The analgesic activity of Mol plus injection is by inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes, particularly COX-3, in the CNS.


Interaction of Mol Plus Injection with other drugs

Inform your healthcare provider about all the medicines you take, including prescription medications, over-the-counter medications, nutritional and vitamin supplements, and herbal products. Certain medications interact with Mol plus injection and reduce its effectiveness by causing undesirable side effects.

How to consume Mol Plus Injection

Mol plus injection will be given by infusion into your veins. Your physician will decide the dose and duration of the infusion based on your disease condition. Do not self-administer the injection. This will take over 15 minutes. Generally, it is given every 4 to 6 hours or as needed to relieve pain or reduce fever.
