Introduction to Palozest 0.25mg Injection
Palozest 0.25mg Injection is an antiemetic drug belonging to the class of 5-HT3 receptor antagonists, containing the active ingredient Palonosetron. It is used to prevent and treat nausea, vomiting, or sickness caused by cancer treatments such as chemotherapy, radiotherapy, or after surgery. Nausea is characterised by stomach pain and the urge to vomit. The forcible voluntary or involuntary emptying of the stomach's contents through the mouth is known as vomiting.
The common side effects that are likely to occur with this medicine are hives, swollen face, breathing trouble and chest pain. Inform your healthcare provider if these side effects concern you or persist for longer than usual. It is given right away or later with anticancer medicines. It is usually given up to 24 hours while recovering from anaesthesia after surgery.
Talk to your physician if you have a history of repeated constipation, blockage in the bowel, heart problems, or imbalance of certain minerals in your blood (such as magnesium and potassium). This medicine should not be used if you are allergic to Palozest 0.25mg Injection. Tell your physician about all the medications you are taking recently, including herbal medicines and supplements, before taking Palonosetron.

Palozest 0.25mg Injection is a prescription medicine, and it is used to treat
- Postoperative nausea and vomiting.
- Chemotherapy induced nausea and vomiting.
Therapeutic Effects of Palozest 0.25mg Injection
Palonosetron is an Isoquinoline derivative that interacts with 5-HT3 receptor antagonists. It is a type of serotonin receptor antagonist, which works by blocking the action of serotonin in the body that induces nausea and vomiting. They are also effective in the prevention and treatment of nausea and vomiting in patients undergoing radiation therapy to the whole body or abdomen.

How to consume Palozest 0.25mg Injection
The medicine will be administered to you by a qualified healthcare professional in a hospital setting. This injection will be given intravenously into a vein in your arm or hand. Do not self-administer this medicine. The dose of the injection will be decided by your doctor based on your disease condition and other factors. Palozest 0.25mg Injection is usually given about 30 minutes before you receive your anti-cancer medicine (chemotherapy) or right before anaesthesia for surgery. If you are taking palonosetron as an oral tablet, it should be swallowed whole with a glass of water, with or without food, as directed by your healthcare provider. Do not crush, chew, or break the tablet before swallowing it.
