Introduction to Pulmofib 200mg Tablet

Pulmofib 200mg tablet belongs to the medication class known as transforming growth factor inhibitors. It contains an active ingredient called Pirfenidone. It is used to treat idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis is a type of lung disorder in which tissues of the lungs become scarred and inflamed, resulting in breathing difficulties. This medicine should not be used if you have severe liver disorders or kidney disorders, if you are taking fluvoxamine (which treats depression and obsessive-compulsive disorder), or if you are allergic to any of the ingredients of this medicine. Do not drink grapefruit juice while taking this medicine. 

This medicine may cause gastrointestinal disorders and elevation in liver enzymes. If you experience any of these, temporary dodge or discontinuation may be required. Consult your doctor for more information. Contact your doctor immediately if you experience any abnormalities, such as dark or brown urine, bruises, bleeding than usual, or jaundice. This medicine is not recommended for adolescents and children under 18. Avoid smoking as it may reduce the efficacy of the Pulmofib 200mg tablet. Avoid exposure to sunlight, including sunlamps. Use sunscreen daily and cover your head, legs, and arms to reduce exposure to sunlight.

Pulmofib 200mg tablet works to reduce the production and accumulation of extracellular matrix (ECM) proteins, which contribute to the fibrosis and stiffening of lung tissue. This helps to slow the progression of the disease and improve lung function.


Interaction of Pulmofib 200mg Tablet with other drugs

Inform your healthcare provider about all your medicines, including prescription, over-the-counter, nutritional and vitamin supplements, vaccines, and herbal products. Certain medications, such as Ciprofloxacin and Fluvoxamine, may interact with the effects of Pulmofib 200mg tablet and reduce its effectiveness by causing undesirable side effects.
