It is also used to reduce the tension in the muscles of the prostate and urethra. It belongs to the class of medications called alpha-blockers. Therapeutic Effects of Tamspurt 0.4mg Tablet
Tamsulosin, an alpha-1A adrenoceptor antagonist, selectively blocks sympathetic nervous stimulation of the receptor resulting in relaxation of the smooth muscles of the prostate, prostatic urethra, and bladder neck for improvement in urine flow rate and a reduction in symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia. It binds selectively and competitively to the postsynaptic alpha-1 adrenoceptor, particularly to subtypes alpha1A and alpha1D. It brings about the relaxation of prostatic and urethral smooth muscle
