Introduction to Taxim O 400mg Tablet
Taxim O 400mg tablet contains the active ingredient cefixime. It belongs to the group of antibiotic medications called cephalosporin antibiotics. It is indicated to treat bacterial infections of the nose, ear, sinuses (sinusitis), throat, chest, lungs, and urinary tract. A bacterial infection refers to the growth of numerous harmful strains of bacteria in the body. It can affect any part of the body. Â
The common side effects that are likely to associate with Taxim O 400mg tablet are nausea, stomach pain, diarrhea, indigestion (dyspepsia), headache, dizziness, and itching of the genital or vaginal area. Report to your doctor if any of these side effects disturb or persist in you. It is not recommended for pregnant and breastfeeding women. Â
Report to your physician immediately if you have allergic reactions to Cefixime, other cephalosporin antibiotics, including penicillin, or any of the other ingredients of this medicine. Tell your doctor before treatment commencement with this medication if you have colitis (inflammation of the inner lining of the colon), kidney or liver disease, or seizures. It should not be given to children below ten years.

Therapeutic Effects of Taxim O 400mg Tablet
Taxim O 400mg tablet kills susceptible bacteria by blocking the synthesis of bacterial cell walls. It attaches to one of the penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs), which prevents the formation of peptidoglycan in the bacterial cell wall. This prevents biosynthesis and stops the building of the cell wall, which results in the death of the bacterial cell.
Interaction of Taxim O 400mg Tablet with other drugs
Inform your doctor about any medications you take or have taken before the treatment, including prescription, over-the-counter, nutritional or vitamin supplements, and herbal products. Certain medications may interact with Taxim O 400mg tablet and can cause undesirable side effects.

- Store at a temperature not exceeding 30°C.
- Keep out of reach of children and pets.
- If you forgot to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember. However, skip the missed dose if it is nearly time for the next dose.
- Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose.
How to consume Taxim O 400mg Tablet
Take Taxim O 400mg tablet as prescribed by your healthcare provider. It may be taken with or without food, and swallow this medicine. Do not chew, break or crush it. Do not stop taking this without consulting your doctor. Your doctor will decide the treatment's dose, frequency, and duration based on your disease condition and other factors.Â
