Introduction to Xmalon 25mg Tablet
Xmalon 25mg tablet is an anticancer drug with the active ingredient Exemestane. It belongs to the medication class known as aromatase inhibitors. In postmenopausal women, it is used to treat hormone-dependent early breast cancer after completing 2-3 years of treatment with Tamoxifen. In addition, it also treats hormone-dependent advanced breast cancer. Cancer is a disorder in which cells multiply in an uncontrolled and abnormal manner. Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to Exemestane or any of the other ingredients of this medicine and if you have not been through the menopause stage, also if you think you are pregnant or breastfeeding.Â
Xmalon 25mg tablet is not recommended for adolescents and children under the age of 18. Inform your doctor before starting the treatment, if you have problems with your liver or kidney or if you have a history of the bone condition as this medicine can make you lose mineral content and decrease its strength. Inform your doctor if you take any other medicine while under this treatment. Regular checking will be conducted to monitor the vitamin D level, if your level is below normal you will be given vitamin D. You need to tell your doctor about all the medications you are taking recently before taking this medicine. Use effective birth control during the treatment with this medicine.Â

Therapeutic Effects of Xmalon 25mg Tablet
Xmalon 25mg inhibits the enzyme aromatase, which is responsible for the conversion of androgens (male hormones) to estrogen (female hormones). By inhibiting aromatase, Xmalon 25mg reduces the levels of estrogen in the body. This can stop or reduce the growth of different hormone-sensitive breast cancer cells, which depends on estrogen.Â
Interaction of Xmalon 25mg Tablet with other drugs
Inform your healthcare provider about all your medicines, including prescribed medications, over-the-counter medicines, nutritional or vitamin supplements, and herbal products. Certain medications may interact such as Rifampicin, Carbamazepine, or phenytoin, and St. John Wort interacts with Xmalon 25mg and reduce effectiveness by causing undesirable side effects.Â

Q 1. Can Xmalon 25mg cause bone disease?
Xmalon 25mg can weaken your bones and increase your risk of fractures (a condition called osteoporosis). Your provider might ask you to do a bone mineral density (BMD) test while taking this medicine to ensure that your bones are healthy and strong.
Q 2. Will it affect my contraception or fertility?
Exemestane is generally given to you only if you have gone through menopause. However, some people find that they start to have periods again after taking Xmalon 25mg . If this happens to you, it’s important to use reliable contraception. Talk to your doctor if your periods start again or if there is any chance that you maybe are pregnant. Xmalon 25mg is not recommended during pregnancy.
