Introduction to Shelcal M Tablet

Shelcal M tablet contains the active ingredient calcium, vitamin D3, manganese, zinc, copper, and boron, which belong to the group of medications called mineral and vitamin supplements. They are used to prevent calcium and vitamin D deficiencies and as adjunctive therapy in osteoporosis. Vitamin D3 helps to increase the absorption of calcium in the intestine. 

Shelcal M tablet is used to maintain normal levels of calcium and phosphate in the serum, and they are used to treat patients with vitamin D deficiency or related disorders. They help in the formation of bones, cell function, muscle contraction, and the nervous system, and this medication is used with caution in elderly individuals.   

Shelcal M tablet has to be taken after the meal for better intestinal absorption, and common side effects are gastrointestinal problems, stomach pain, constipation, and diarrhea. Consult your doctor if the symptoms prolong for a longer duration of time. Inform the doctor if the patient is planning for pregnancy or breastfeeding and has a history of allergies, kidney problems, or hyperparathyroidism. Shelcal M tablet is not recommended in patients with severe kidney disorders. Patients should inform about other medications taken for different conditions.
