Introduction to Shelcal Os 500mg Tablet

Helcal OS 500mg tablet contains the active constituent calcium and alfacalcidol, which belong to the group of medications called dietary or nutritional supplements. It is used to treat vitamin D deficiency, renal osteodystrophy, hyperparathyroidism, hypoparathyroidism, hypocalcemia, rickets, or osteomalacia. It also promotes the normal functioning of muscles and bones. It is used to improve calcium-related disorders like bone loss. Calcium promotes bone formation and its maintenance. Alfacalcidol improves calcium absorption from the intestine to the bones and blood. It is also used to treat vitamin D deficiency and calcium malabsorption disorders. 

Do not take Shelcal OS 500mg tablet if you are allergic to calcium, alfacalcidol, or any of the other ingredients in the medicine. Inform your physician if you have kidney stones or any other kidney problems. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to get pregnant before starting the treatment. The most common side effects of this medicine are diarrhoea, constipation, stomach pain, skin rash, diarrhoea, and itching. This medicine should be used with caution in children. Do not take this medicine unless your doctor prescribes it.

Calcium is a nutritional supplement to increase the body's calcium stores directly. These actions will raise calcium and phosphate levels in your body, which is beneficial in treating bone problems and parathyroid gland issues.
