Introduction to Supracal Tablet

Supracal tablet contains the active ingredient called Calcium citrate+ vitamin D3+magnesium+zinc. It belongs to the group of nutritional supplements. It is used to prevent low calcium levels and high phosphate levels in the blood and to treat osteoarthritis and other bone-related diseases. Calcium citrate helps in the formation of bones, which prevents thinning of bone. Vitamin D3 maintains blood calcium and phosphorous levels, which helps improve bone mineralization. Magnesium helps to maintain bone mineral density; zinc promotes skeletal growth. This medication is not recommended in children unless prescribed by the doctor.

Common side effects of Supracal tablet are stomach upset, upper abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation, nausea, and vomiting. Most of the side effects resolve independently, but if the symptoms prolong for a longer duration, consult the doctor. This medication should be taken as per the advice of the doctor because dose alteration depends upon the age and medical condition of the patient. Do not take Supracal tablet if you have severe allergic reactions to Calcium citrate+ vitamin D3+magnesium+zinc and its ingredients. Inform the doctor about hypercalciuria, hypercalcemia, liver, heart, pre-existing medical condition, and other kidney-related disorders because it is not recommended in patients with severe kidney disorders as it worsens the condition. Before starting this medication, inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to get pregnant, or think you may be pregnant, or if you are breastfeeding because dosage alteration is required for some patients.
