Bisoprolol + Hydrochlorothiazide belongs to the therapeutic class of antihypertensives.

Bisoprolol + Hydrochlorothiazide is primarily used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure). It may also be used in angina pectoris (chest pain), heart failure, hyperaldosteronism (excessive aldosterone production), and kidney stones prevention.

Bisoprolol + Hydrochlorothiazide is primarily administered orally. The healthcare provider will determine the dosage and duration of treatment based on the specific infection and individual factors.

Bisoprolol + Hydrochlorothiazide can cause a variety of side effects, ranging from mild and temporary to more serious and requiring medical attention. Common side effects include dizziness, fatigue, headache, nausea, and constipation. Less common side effects may include slow heart rate, low blood pressure, electrolyte imbalance, dry mouth, stomach upset, diarrhea, rashes, joint pain, and sleep disturbances. In rare cases, it may cause serious side effects such as severe allergic reactions, severe bradycardia, severe hypotension, severe electrolyte imbalance, kidney stones, liver problems, mental health issues, and vision problems. 

Bisoprolol + Hydrochlorothiazide can cause electrolyte imbalances, such as hypokalemia (low potassium), hyponatremia (low sodium), and hypomagnesemia (low magnesium).  Abruptly discontinuing this medication can lead to a rebound increase in blood pressure, potentially increasing the risk of heart attack, stroke, or other complications

Close monitoring of heart rate and rhythm is essential during treatment with Bisoprolol + Hydrochlorothiazide, especially in individuals with pre-existing cardiac conditions. Regular monitoring of electrolyte levels, particularly potassium, sodium, and magnesium, is essential during treatment with this medication.

Inform your doctor if you have any allergies to Bisoprolol + Hydrochlorothiazide or any other medications. Discuss your medical history with your doctor, including any pre-existing conditions like kidney disease, liver disease, diabetes, asthma, or heart problems. This medication is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant or if you are breastfeeding.  Regular checkups with your doctor are essential to monitor your blood pressure, heart rate, and potential side effects of this medication. Monitor electrolyte levels, especially potassium, sodium, and magnesium, to ensure they remain within the normal range. Drink plenty of fluids to prevent dehydration, which can worsen side effects like dizziness and constipation. Start with the lowest effective dose and gradually increase it under your doctor's supervision to minimize side effects.
